Like many counselors, I began my work as a crisis counselor amidst my own crisis. Feeling overwhelmed by hopelessness and despair, I found myself asking the most fundamental question we all ask ourselves: why? Not only “Why am I here?” but also “Why should I bother?” The answer, in part, has led to this website -- an attempt to help others by whatever means I can find. I hope this site is of some use to you.

While I do have experience as a counselor, I do not profess to be a “professional.” My thoughts and experiences should be taken for what they are -- the experiences of someone who has spoken with numerous suicidal people, but never attempted to take his own life. A counselor in training without decades of experience. But even if I were, I urge you to never take anyone’s word as gospel.

Consider the source, consider the reasoning, and decide for yourself.
